Storm Babet’s disruption has spread to this weekend’s football fixtures up and down the country with six clashes currently called off due to the devastating floods. The storm has left thousands of Scots without power up and down the country.
The SPFL have now announced that two Scottish Premiership games have been postponed due to the floods, along with four league ties.
Aberdeen’s home clash against Dundee as well as St Johnstone’s clash with Motherwell are so far the only Premiership postponemnets.
Matches have also been postponed in the Championship, League One and League Two.
Calum Beattie, SPFL chief operating officer, said: “We have been in close contact with Police Scotland and our clubs and it’s clear that we continue to face very severe weather, particularly in the North East, in the coming days.
“We never postpone any matches lightly, but our discussions with the emergency services left us in no doubt that this was the correct decision.”
