Prince Harry and Meghan Markle given ‘opportunity to change public opinion’ with new move


Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to release two separate Netflix shows which will give them a “huge opportunity to change public opinion” a PR expert has claimed.

It will give the Montecito-based couple a chance to “reconnect with the public” and “deconstruct the mystery” that has surrounded their lives ever since they stepped down as senior Royal Family members in 2020.

Meghan’s project will “celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship” and will see Leah Hariton as showrunner, and Michael Steed as director.

PR guru Carla Speight of Carla Speight & Co explained the show could give royal fans a perspective on who she is as a person. She explained exclusively to Express.co.uk: “It offers her the chance to shine a light on who Harry fell in love with as well as her as a mother and a successful woman. Historically, women have always been the homemakers, the ones who bring a sense of belonging, warmth and care to the lives of those around them.”

Meghan’s show is thought to be related to her new brand ‘American Riviera Orchard’ and she has soft-launched the new lifestyle brand on Instagram which featured a new logo and a website with a waiting list – however, the release date for the hard launch is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s Netflix show will delve into the world of professional polo which holds personal significance for the Duke of Sussex who is a long-time enthusiast of the sport. It aims to give “unprecedented access to the world of professional polo” and the US Open Polo Championship in Florida, the streaming giant has said.

PR guru Carla, thinks the show will be a chance for the Prince to “drop down barriers” and show his “fun, sporting and outgoing personality”.

She added: “No one really knows a lot about who he is, there has always been a lot of assumption and speculation, this show gives him the chance to let the Netflix audiences in to see him behind the scenes. It’s not the usual protocol he is used to.”

Polo events have raised more than £11.4 million for Harry’s charity, Sentebale. Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho co-founded Sentebale as a response to the needs of children and young people living in Lesotho.

Sentebale has since expanded its operations to Botswana and works providing support for young people living with HIV, Aids and mental health issues and training related to career development, entrepreneurship, and education.

Nacho Figueras is a longtime ambassador for the charity and best friend of Prince Harry. Speaking to Hello! Magazine, Nacho shared just how much playing polo means to Prince Harry: “We’ve been working on this for a long time. It was always Harry’s dream and passion to share with the world, what it takes to be a really competitive polo player and show polo at the highest level.”

He added: “I cannot think of many people that can be better than him to be the kickoff of this storytelling.”
