The festive period is a time for good will to all men, but as Christmas rolls around King Charles is increasingly nervous about what his son and daughter-in-law might do next.
The monarch is reported to be “deeply nervous” about talking to Harry and Meghan, who themselves are facing a lot of “hostility” from within the royal family, according to an insider. King Charles is worried about the possibility of the Sussexes “leaking” his conversations with them, which would make “things very difficult”, according to Vanity Fair.
The insider added there was “no chance” of Harry and Meghan or their two children Archie and Lilibet, will be invited to spend the Christmas period with the rest of the family.
They went on to say that King Charles “would love” to get to spend time with his US-based grandchildren, but the hostility felt towards the California couple, especially allegedly on the part of Prince William and Kate, means the situation is delicate.
