Meghan Markle 'didn't understand royal pecking order' and 'wanted to be star of the show'

Meghan Markle “didn’t understand the royal pecking order” and wanted to be “the star”, claims former royal correspondent Charles Rae.

Speaking of Meghan, Mr Rae pointed out two mistakes she made when officially joining the Royal Family.

Less than two years after meeting, Harry and Meghan got married in a beautiful ceremony in Windsor on May 19, 2018.

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show, Mr Rae claimed that the Duchess of Sussex “threw a tantrum” and left the Royal Family when she wasn’t the centre of attention.

The former correspondent said that Meghan “didn’t understand” the hierarchy. He said: “You’ve got the monarch, the Prince of Wales and then you’ve got everyone else.”

He also added that she wanted to be “the star” of the family, as reported by OK!.

Mr Rae added: “She wanted to be the star and that I think it was that simple that she thought she just picked up her toys and decided to go off to America.”

Prince Harry is visiting the UK next month, with the trip confirmed on April 28.

Although Meghan has been tipped to join her husband, the mother-of-two is thought to be wanting to remain at home in California.

A few days after Harry’s visit, the couple are set to travel to Nigeria together.

This trip has been confirmed, with the Defence Headquarters [DHQ] announcing that the couple will be visiting.

During the visit, Meghan and Harry will be meeting with Service members and taking on a host of cultural activities.

Whilst in the UK, Harry will be speaking at a special ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. Taking to X, the official account for the Games confirmed Harry’s attendance.

The event is said to mark a decade of “changing lives and saving lives through sport”. The ceremony will take place on May 8 at St Paul’s Cathedral.

The Games also confirmed that “actor Damian Lewis and members of the worldwide Invictus Community” will be present on May 8.

Meghan was previously said to have been included on the list of attendees, but her name was marked with ‘TBC’ [to be confirmed].
