Queen Mary 'never disappoints' as she rewears beautiful purple dress to mark change


Queen Mary of Denmark “never disappoints” as she steps out in a gorgeous purple, claims one royal fans. The new Queen stepped out at a service at Aargus Cathedral to commemorate the of the Danish monarch on Sunday, January 21.

To mark the special occasion, Queen Mary wore a gorgeous purple coat dress from Soeren Le Schmidt – a repeat outfit for the royal.

She paired the look with a Quidam Bags navy calfskin leather clutch and Jimmy Choo navy suede pumps.

Fans took to a recent post on the Instagram account @royalfashionpolice to express their delight of the royal’s style – with many stating that she never gets it wrong.

One fan wrote: “Lovely outfit!! Queen Mary never disappoints.” Another fan wrote: “Delighted that Mary wore this outfit again, that shade of purple really suits her.”

A third fan wrote: “This look is so beautiful, a true timeless elegance.”

A fourth simply wrote: “She always looks chic and lovely.” Mary’s four children – including daughters Princess Isabella, 16, and Princess Josephine, 13 – were also in attendance.

Pointing this out, one fan wrote: “Mary never disappoints. And Princess[es] Isabella and Josephine are gorgeous [heart-eyed emoji].”

Queen Mary’s outfit is a repeat from last year, with another fan commenting pointing out why a lot of people in attendance at the service wearing purple.

Replying to another’s question, one fan wrote: “It’s the colour of the church. Especially used in the time of Advent (before Christmas) and Lent (before Easter). It’s their way of showing respect for the Church of Denmark.”

The former Danish Queen, Margrethe II, announced her plans to step down back on December 31.

Using her New Year’s Eve speech to announce her news, Margrethe II said: “I have decided that now is the right time. On 14 January 2024, 52 years after I succeeded my beloved father, I will step down as Queen of Denmark. I leave the throne to my son, Crown Prince Frederik….”

Her abdication meant that King Frederik and Queen Mary are now head of the Danish Royal Family.
