Prince William and Tom Cruise spark fan frenzy with bromance moment at London gala

Prince William and Tom Cruise delighted royal fans with their bromance in central London on Wednesday night as they were seen comparing suits in a video online.

The Prince of Wales was at a charity gala for the London Air Ambulance, with fellow famous pilot Tom Cruise joining him on his first day back on royal duty.

A clip shared on X showed the two admiring each other’s tuxedos, with William donning his favourite black velvet dinner jacket as Tom chose to keep it classic.

Fans on social media gushed over the pair, with one commenting on the fashion: “Answered prayers, PoW [Prince of Wales] wore my dreamy velvet. Is Tom in Dior?”

Another added: “I love it how Tom Cruise has become so British”, while a third chimed in: “Just the Prince of Wales bringing in the star power to raise money for @LDNairamb.”

One fan had an especially fervent response: “Yaaasss! Gorgeous men, actual Royalty, real Star power; and all for such a great cause. #LoveIt.”

Although the pair posed happily for pictures together, William still managed to poke fun at his fellow helicopter enthusiast, as he said: “I should also take this opportunity to give a mention to my – our – fellow pilot, Tom Cruise. Tom, huge thanks for supporting us tonight.

“And Tom if you wouldn’t mind not borrowing either of the new helicopters for the next Mission Impossible, it would be appreciated.

“We have all seen on our screens that – how can I put it – you seem to have a different take on ‘normal wear and tear’ to the rest of us. It’s not the kind that buffs out.”

Jokes aside William also paid tribue to those who had sent words of support to Princess Kate and King Charles following their recent health scares, as it was announced on Monday the King has cancer.

He said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you, also, for the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days. It means a great deal to us all.”

The Prince still saw an opportunity for some humour as he added: “It’s fair to say the past few weeks have had a rather ‘medical’ focus. So I thought I’d come to an air ambulance function to get away from it all.”
