Prince Harry and Meghan branded 'poisonous' for self-promotion timing as King suffers

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have come under fire for the timing of their brand promotion, due to King Charles’ ill health with his recent cancer diagnosis, an expert has pointed out.

An American journalist has called the Duke and Duchess of Sussex an “insult to the nation” and has called for them to be stripped of their titles.

Journalist Lee Cohen told GB News: “Who but the lowest of the low would swan about self-promoting when their family members are in the midst of serious health crises?”

Branding the couple “poisonous”, he added: “There’s the timing of this too. We want to give Harry the benefit of the doubt, but after so many episodes, it’s clear that no matter what side of the Atlantic you’re on, the Sussexes are monsters beyond redemption.”

Uneasy, in particular, with the Duke of Sussex’s actions, Mr Cohen added: “I don’t profess to tell the King what to do or recommend what the King should do, this is his family and he’s the King. But how can the nation sit back and allow this?”

GB News host, Nana Akua, agreed: “They also don’t seem to show any real empathy for what has happened. I think Harry still thinks that he deserves the apology. He can’t see what he’s doing is what he’s accused them of.”

Prince Harry became the first royal to give an interview on his father’s health while in Canada promoting the ‘One Year to Go’ Invictus Winter Games 2025.

The Duke spoke candidly to ABC’s Good Morning America in Canada. While he didn’t disclose any revealing details, he told the reporter how much he “loves his family”.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also launched a new website – Sussex.com, which aims to be a ‘one stop shop’ for the latest news and events involving the couple.

The re-branding has caused controversy with critics questioning whether the couple are trying to monetise from royal affiliations.

The couple replaced their Archewell site with Sussex.com, with the homepage reading ‘The Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’.

One source told MailOnline: “They are going to have real trouble with the use of Sussex. It is a royal title and if there is any hint of commercialism about this it will be shut down. It’s just staggering they cannot see how gauche it is.”

Mr Cohen added: “Their rebranding coincided with the King and Catherine’s illness. They went forward with the Oprah interview even as Prince Philip lay ill in hospital, and now the content of this new rebranding of this website is cringe worthy self promotion of their self manufactured accomplishments.”
