Police update as baby, girl, 3, and boy, 7, found dead as woman arrested

Police have issued an update as they continue to investigate the deaths of three children in Bristol. They were called to the property in the early hours of Sunday morning after receiving a welfare call.

The three children were pronounced dead at the scene and the BBC has reported that a 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder.

In a statement published on Avon and Somerset Police’s X/Twitter account, Chief Inspector Vicks Hayward-Melen said: “We were first called by a member of the public early on Sunday the 18th of February. Officers arrived at about 12.40am and found three children whose lives could not be saved.

“Formal identification has not yet taken place, but we believe the victims are a boy aged seven, a girl of three, and a 10-month-old boy. Their next of kin have been informed and are being given all the help and support they need by specialist family liaison officers.”
