Mystery as male model vanishes without a trace after landing at airport

A male model has mysteriously vanished without a trace six days ago.

Ricardo César Merini, who is also an actor, first went missing on Saturday, October 21 after leaving to meet a friend just minutes away from his home.

The 37-year-old was last seen on CCTV entering and leaving his home in São Paulo, Brazil at 9.47pm and 11.36pm respectively.

His friend, Fernanda Hoffmann, told local media that Merini left his home after arriving from the airport, having just returned from a trip.

He then proceeded to his friend’s house on foot, with the pair reportedly texting during this time, but never arrived at his intended destination.

Hoffman is now running a social media campaign, asking anyone with news to come forward.

Since his baffling disappearance, Ricardo’s relatives have travelled from their home in Santa Catarina State to São Paulo to get involved in the search.

Hoffman added: “We managed to geolocate his phone, which is in a favela.

“The police have been sent to that area, but there is still no information as to whether the phone is really with him or if it was stolen and taken to that community.”

Ricardo appeared in the Bertolt Brecht theatre play ‘Fear and Misery of the Third Reich’ in 2012 and starred in the 2014 web series ‘Halls – Sensação Que Inspira’.

He also did voiceovers for the animated short film ‘O Coração do Príncipe’ in 2014 and acted in the short films ‘Asco’ and ‘Noite na Taverna’ the following year.

The search and police investigation continues.
