Miracle as dog missing for 5 months found living on farmland by combine harvester driver

A dog who went missing five months ago has been miraculously found safe.

Golden retriever Molly was spotted four or five times since she escaped through an open door at her groomer’s place, Spitfire Farms in Anita, Iowa, on June 15.

As owners Randy and Cythia Ruth worried about her whereabouts – fearing she may have died – a farmer on a combine harvester spotted the pooch.

She was 40lb lighter than when she was last seen.

At the time of her disappearance, Molly had a microchip, but wasn’t wearing a collar.

Rose Shoemaker, Molly’s groomer, expressed her delight at finding the golden retriever, calling it the highlight of her year.

Randy and Cynthia are over the moon – and stressed that they had no hard feelings about Molly’s disappearance, acknowledging it as an “accident”.
