However the PR expert was quick to point out that concerns over Gipson’s lack of tabloid experience could cost them.
She added: “However, it is worth noting that reported Gipson has no tabloid experience, which could be seen as a risky move given that most of the publicity surrounding the Sussexes is in the tabloids.
“They’ll be hoping he will be able to develop a PR strategy that will help change the public perception of them in the UK.”
It comes after Mail On Sunday editor-at-large Charlotte Griffiths told GB News the expansion represented a “pivot” from the Sussexes saying previous requests for comment from her paper had seen “nothing back for years and years”.
She told the broadcaster: “In some ways it’s a pivot point, but in other ways, why have they appointed this guy who has no tabloid media experience. He’s going to get eaten by the wolves.
“It’s a really surprise appointment and not in a good way.”
The Sussexes are jetting off to visit Nigeria in May where they will host a variety of cultural activities.
