Meghan Markle's Suits return would be 'step backward' as 'she can't be Hollywood star'

Meghan Markle’s potential return to Suits for a spin-off series could be a “step backwards” for the Duchess, according to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams.

NBCUniversal has reportedly received the go-ahead for Suits: Los Angeles, a spin-off of the popular legal drama in which Meghan played Rachel Zane.

Meghan is rumoured to have been offered “one of the biggest TV deals” of 2024 for the series and may even direct an episode, although this hasn’t been confirmed.

Mr Fitzwilliams expressed his thoughts on Meghan’s possible return to Suits, noting there is “no indication she can become a Hollywood star”.

He also argued any new project she could take on could affect Prince Harry’s work with charities like Invictus, Sentebale in Lesotho, and Wellchild.

Netflix’s Bela Bajaria recently shared that Prince Harry and Meghan, who have a deal with Netflix until 2025, are creating “a couple of unscripted things”.

At a Hollywood event, she said: “Oh, what are they working on? They have a couple of unscripted things they’re working on with Brandon.”

She also revealed: “And they actually have, like, a bunch of development, they have a movie in development, a (scripted) series that they’re working on.

“So all very early development, with a movie, a TV show and a couple of unscripted shows. But yeah, the movie’s great.”
