Meghan Markle's £8k wardrobe in first 12 hours of Canada trip

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, wore clothes worth nearly £8,000 during a 12-hour period on her trip to Canada with Prince Harry.

The Royal couple are in Canada for the One Year To Go event before the 2025 Invictus Games, which will take place in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia.

They started their three-day visit at the Participating Nations Winter Training Camp in the luxury ski resort of Whistler.

Meghan looked stylish in a Calvin Klein white maxi coat, Le High Skinny jeans by Frame, a black Burberry cashmere pom-pom beanie, and fur-lined Joan of Arctic boots by Sorel.

Fans noticed that Meghan had worn these boots before while filming Suits in 2018 in Vancouver.

For her date night with Harry, she upped the style stakes, and stepped out in chic Loro Piana ‘Loreen’ reversible coat, £4,645 ($5,840), which she last wore when she was promoting her children’s book.

She teamed the coat with a pair of black trousers and completed the outfit with a Valentino foldover clutch bag, £1,877 ($2,360) in a deep scarlet colour.

Meghan wore the same Loro Piana cashmere jacket when visiting a school in Harlem, New York, back in 2021, to promote her children’s book The Bench.

The luxury label, based in Europe, was reportedly picked by the Duchess because of its sustainability credentials and use of ethical fabrics, as it uses lotus plants for garments.

The couple looked loved up as they headed to the upscale Italian restaurant Il Caminetto in Whistler on Wednesday, and they were whisked away after exiting the eatery from a back entrance.

Meghan has spoken of her fondness for Valentine’s Day, and in a post on her former blog The Tig, she wrote of her desire to spend the day in the romantic city of Paris.

“I am such a sucker for Valentine’s Day. Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Ribert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss.

“And in terms of gifts, be it breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower, it really is the thought that counts,” Meghan wrote.
