Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'dismayed' by 'royal racists' scandal and deny Scobie leak

Another source close to Meghan insisted she “never intended them to be publicly identified” and it “was not leaked to Scobie by anyone in her camp”.

As for the rest of the Royal Family, aides insisted it “business as usual” next week – with a glittering ceremony at Buckingham Palace and a charity carol concert at Westminster Abbey.

The King and Queen, alongside Prince William and Princess Kate, will host an annual reception for 500 diplomats at the palace on Tuesday.

Sources said this week’s events will show the royals at their very best, “rising above” the book bombshells.

This comes after the Sussexes were urged to break their silence on the Endgame ‘racism row’.

Meghan and Harry have been quiet on the issue, but a source close to the Royal Family claimed their silence is “deafening”.

Sources close to Meghan insisted she “never intended for them to be publicly identified” and that no one in her camp leaked the info to Omid Scobie, according to the Telegraph.

But one source close to the Royal Family told the paper: “For the couple that talked about ‘death by a thousand no comments’, the silence at this point is deafening.”

While another insider said their silence on the issue was “interesting” given Meghan and Harry’s previous complaints about the Firm not commenting when they received negative press.

The Dutch edition of Endgame was pulled from the shelves immediately, with the publisher dismissing the incident as a translation error.

While Scobie denied he was to blame and refused to apologise for the scandal on Newsnight.

“The book I edited and signed off on did not have names in it,” he claimed.
