'Obvious parallels' between Meghan Markle and Charles's jams as King enjoys sales spike


MacLaran also noted differences between the two brands, specifically pointing to Meghan’s focus on the US market, as opposed to King Charles’ jam which has a distinctly British feel.

She said: “As regards her following in the footsteps of King Charles’ Duchy Organic food brand, I think her positioning is different and more specifically for the American market.

There are also differences in the ethos behind each brand, with the King donating extra money made from sales to charity, and Meghan focusing more on the high-end market.

MacLaran added: “The Duchy range emphasises its organic credentials and sustainability aspects which at present Meghan does not seem to be doing.”
