Major venue splits opinion by turning on its Christmas lights – in mid October

A major venue has split opinion by turning on its Christmas lights – in mid October.

The Dome in Edinburgh put its illuminated decorations up – before Halloween.

It is known to start its festivities early with its annual picturesque display.

The venue has coloured tinsel wrapped around the six stone pillars fronting George Street.

But some residents have been taking to social media to say it is too early.

One posted: ”I wish they would wait until after Armistice Day to put their Christmas decorations up.”

Another said: ”Definitely too early.”

But another resident posted: ”Looks fantastic ❤️.”
