London's Jewish community terrified as schools shut over 'threats to students'

Two Jewish schools in London have said that they are closing their doors “in the interests of the safety of our precious children”.

Ateres Beis Yaakov Primary School in Colindale and Torah Vodaas Primary School in Edgware told parents that they would be shutting for the rest of the week, following anti-Israel protests in the capital.

In a letter to parents, Rabbi Feldman of Torah Vodaas, explained that although there was “no specific threat to our school” the move is “not a decision that has been taken lightly”.

This comes in the week after Hamas terrorists broke into Israel, murdering and kidnapping civilians. Not since the holocaust have so many Jews been killed in a single event.

Spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, Lt Col Jonathan Conricus, said it was “by far the worst day in Israeli history” following the attacks.

London has seen several protests against Israel, with stand-offs between Jews and anti-Israel protesters captured on social media.
