King Charles embraces Louis in new clip after Prince Harry claimed he 'never gives hugs'

King Charles was captured in a new documentary giving Prince Louis a kiss, despite Prince Harry’s claims that he “never gives hugs or kisses”.

The behind-the-scenes documentary, ‘Charles III: The Coronation Year’, will be shown at 6.50pm Tuesday on BBC One.

The programme offers royal enthusiasts a glimpse into the rehearsals for the Westminster Abbey ceremony in May.

During one rehearsal, Charles is seen giving a hug and a kiss to Prince George and Prince Louis.

For the rehearsal, Louis is smartly dressed in a blazer and shorts, while Prince George is in a suit.

King Charles also embraces Princess Charlotte, who pays her respects by curtseying to him in a light blue patterned dress and white cardigan.

A funny moment ensues when Charles and Prince William practise the kiss of homage, a significant part of the Coronation ceremony.

Bishop of Hereford Richard Jackson told the Telegraph: “I think what struck me particularly was how extraordinarily affectionate they are.

“They’re clearly a very close family, all the generations. In a sense, you felt you’re part of a family occasion as well as a royal occasion and a national occasion.”

But according to Harry, the King’s treatment of the royal grandkids is different to his children, as he accused his dad of “never giving hugs” in his memoir ‘Spare’.

Harry wrote: “The older generation maintained a nearly zero-tolerance prohibition on all physical contact.

“No hugs, no kisses, no pats. Now and then, maybe a light touching of cheeks – on special occasions.

“No matter how much you might love someone, you could never cross that chasm between, say, monarch and child. Or Heir and Spare.”
