Daniel Khalife LIVE: Fugitive 'boasted about how rich he was in Wetherspoons' on night out

Daniel Khalife, a suspected terrorist, escaped from HMP Wandsworth Prison on Wednesday morning (September 6), reportedly strapped to the underside of a lorry.

Since then, there has been a nationwide manhunt as the police hunt for the 21-year-old, who was being held in Wandsworth Prison until his trial for terrorism offences in November.

Now, footage has emerged of Mr Khalife boasting about his wealth to a couple of women before allegedly following them in Stafford last year.

A student has claimed that Mr Khalife showed them his bank account which had more than £20,000 in.

Speaking about the experience to MailOnline the student said Mr Khalife sat with them for 30 minutes before boasting about his wealth and telling them he was in the army.

Speaking to the Mail, the student said: “Daniel approached us and asked if he could sit with us because his friend didn’t have his ID.

“It made my friend uncomfortable but I’m used to guys being weird. He told us he wasn’t close with his family and was in the army and that’s why he was out in our town.

“At one point, he was saying he had lots of money and he even showed us his bank account on his phone. It had about £20,000 in it. We didn’t really know what to say, we started joking about how we were sitting next to this rich guy.”

As the manhunt intensifies, the police say they are following several leads and have appealed to the public to help them find Mr Khalife. They have offered a £20,000 award for information that leads to his capture.
