Charles 'infuriated' Harry with 'bombshell' revelation before marriage to Meghan

Prince Harry was left “infuriated” by a “bombshell” dropped by his father when he told him he wanted to marry Meghan Markle, it has been reported. Author Robert Jobson has claimed that the Duke told the then-Prince Charles of his intention to marry Meghan.

The now-King allegedly told Harry that he could not afford to pay for his new bride in the future, as well as William and Kate and their young family, and Camilla.

Mr Jobson says, in his new book which is being serialised in the Daily Mail, that this revelation “infuriated” Prince Harry.

The author also claims that Prince William questioned whether his younger brother was sure he wanted to marry the former Suits actress.

“Are you sure, Harold?”, he is alleged to have said in the meeting with Harry and his father.

Mr Jobson also reports that on an earlier occasion the then-Duke of Cambridge said to Harry “anything might happen” if he married the American divorcee.

He warned: “She’s an American actress after all, Harold, anything might happen.”

Mr Jobson explains William’s caution in the context of Harry being “obsessed” with getting married.

These reports come as Brits wait to learn whether the California-based couple will attend King Charles III’s Coronation next month.

It is expected that the pair will declare whether one or both of them will be in attendance for the historic May ceremony, the first of its kind since 1953.

Express.co.uk reported that a leading royal author said that Meghan is “likely to snub” the Coronation.

Andrew Lounie, author of Traitor King: The Scandalous Exile of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, maintained that the Duke would travel alone, leaving his wife in the United States with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Mr Lownie said: “Not responding to the invitation is very rude.
