Body language expert claims Meghan Markle is in ‘full goddess mode’ during glitzy outing

Meghan occasionally posed alone for the event, but she also stood with her husband Prince Harry, 38, and her mother Doria Ragland, 66.

Judi James, a professional body language expert, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk to explain how the Duchess’s body language evolved through the evening as a solo star, a wife and also as a daughter.

She claimed: “Meghan appeared to be in full ‘goddess’ mode with her golden sheath dress and swept-over hairstyle.

“But her body language signals three different states of signalling as she changes her poses on the red carpet.”

Posing Alone

Judi opined: “There is a contrast of messages here, with Meghan’s open, symmetric smile and facial expression suggesting straightforward pride, honour and happiness to be speaking and accepting her award.

“Her neck is slightly stretched to reflect this message but her shoulders are relaxed to signal confidence and the ‘upturned V’ gap beneath her armpits is also a reflection of authentic confidence.

“Her finger-touch hand clasp creates a more unassuming partial-barrier though, as though wanting to look humbled by the award rather than overly proud.”

Meghan and Harry

Judi suggested: “It’s so interesting that Meghan has decided to adopt a pose that seems to honour Harry here on a night where she was the star.

“Her upward gaze of what looks like adoration would be flattering and suggest he is her hero rather than the other way round.

“Her feet have closed together to make her look a little more submissive.

“Meanwhile Harry’s direct eye stare to the camera and his asymmetric, lop-sided smile suggests that, as well as being proud of his wife, he’s also loving her flattering attention here.”

Meghan looked gorgeous in a gold Johanna Ortiz dress.

For footwear, she opted for Tom Ford heels to match the Duke of Sussex’s dashing black shoes from the same brand.

The Duchess also accessorised with a Carolina Herrera bag. Doria, on the other hand, wore a black mini-dress for the occasion.

She paired this with a pair of Tabitha Simmons heels which her daughter had worn before.
