Woman has 'avocado-size sandwich bag' of drugs hidden in her privates

A woman is accused of trying to hide an “avocado-size plastic sandwich bag” full of drugs in her private parts and allegedly pretended to have a heart attack when cops became suspicious.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Department said 41-year-old Amanda Smith was pulled over during a routine check on September 4 when two deputies started suspecting she was involved in drug activity.

The officers searched Smith’s vehicle with the support of a K9 Copper, who immediately alerted them of the presence of narcotics.

Court documents allege the woman proceeded to fake having a heart attack but repeatedly refused medical attention.

The Indiana woman was then transported to hospital where she insisted on going to the restroom by herself in what police allege was an attempt to conceal drugs and remove potential evidence.

The court filing claimed Smith then admitted to the officers she had some fentanyl hidden in her underwear, and that nurses then noticed she had a plastic sandwich bag hidden within her private parts.

A body scan performed at Wayne County Jail found an “abnormality in her pelvic area”.

She allegedly produced an “avocado-size plastic sandwich bag” from her privates.

Tests alleged showed the presence of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and fentanyl.

Each drug appeared to have been individually wrapped before being placed in the sandwich bag.

The court document also alleged a further inspection of Smith’s car found prescription substances, including Naloxone – which is used to reverse the effects of opioids – and Gabapentin, a drug used to treat epilepsy.

In a statement, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department said: “Amanda was also in possession of several forms of medication without a prescription.

“Several thousand dollars was also seized as part of an investigation into suspected drug dealing.”

Police also claimed they found a notebook with a list of names, weights, dollar amounts and drug types.

Smith has is facing charges of dealing methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and dealing cocaine, according to Wayne County court records.

She was released on a $4,500 bond the day after her arrest and she is due to reappear in court on September 20.
