Walt Disney Co is axing thousands of jobs in a second round of layoffs that starts today in efforts to save $5.5billion in costs, according to people familiar with the matter.
The latest round of job cuts is expected to continue through Thursday this week as the firm works towards a target of 7,000 redundancies.
Disney officials say the company will have slashed a total of 4,000 jobs with the latest round of reductions, according to a report by Reuters.
