There are two more days until the January transfer window opens up but clubs are already scrambling for signings. Arsenal are in desperate need of a striker but their main priority heading into the New Year is picking up a versatile defender following a string of injuries to their backline.
They may be able to get both if they sell Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith-Rowe in the upcoming window. The Gunners are reportedly open to selling all three but would require big offers to let them go.
Manchester United are also set to have an active January transfer window following the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS. At the top of their agenda is a new midfielder with £130million-rated Benfica youngster Joao Neves among the options. Reports in Portugal suggest United are showing the most concrete interest in the teenager heading into next month.
