A California couple with a big age gap are clapping back at trolls who call the wife a “gold digger” and say she is after a “green card.”
David Epstein, a 70-year-old California native, met now-wife Jackie while he was visiting the Philippines.
Jackie is 28, which gives the couple an age gap of 42 years.
The couple have a joint TikTok account: @dave_jackie2818. They have amassed just under 50,000 followers.
They share clips of them being loving and affectionate with their followers, from videos of them dancing together to one where Jackie appears in David’s lap with the caption “I am blessed.”

However, some TikTok fans aren’t sold on their relationship.
One person commented that David “should’ve gone to the bingo hall and picked himself a nice old lady.”
Another speculated that Jackie was just in the relationship for the green card.
Jackie said she received her Visa 11 months after David proposed, and she now works in a drugstore in California.
Despite this, the couple said they are very much in love and their relationship is solid.
Speaking with YouTube channel Love Don’t Judge, Jackie said she met David on the dating website Cherry Blossoms while he was visiting her home country.
“My family is very supportive and my friends also,” she said. “I won’t regret marrying Dave because he’s a really nice man. He loves me, he respects me, he’s the best.”
Jackie described some of the backlash she’s faced online.
“So many label him as my sugar daddy, say I’m a green card digger, a gold digger,” Jackie said. “But I’m not really affected because it’s not true. I know myself, I know that I am not a gold digger.”
