The Royal Family member Prince Harry turned to for comfort after the late Queen died

Prince Harry was reportedly comforted by his aunt Princess Anne after being told of Queen Elizabeth’s death, a royal expert has claimed. The grief-stricken Duke of Sussex arrived at Balmoral after his cherished grandmother had already passed away in September 2022.

He had to hastily travel to Scotland upon learning of the Queen’s deteriorating health. Harry and Meghan were already in the UK for a string of engagements when he was told by his father, the then-Prince Charles, to immediately go to Balmoral in Scotland to see her.

In his revealing memoir, “Spare,” he recounted how he received the heartbreaking news of the monarch’s demise through a BBC News alert on his phone.

He then made a solitary journey to Balmoral Castle, where his grandmother had breathed her last.

According to royal biographer Robert Hardman’s latest book, “Charles III: New King, New Court: The Inside Story,” he asserted that Princess Anne, the sole daughter of the Queen, played a pivotal and essential role when the news of Her Majesty’s passing emerged. Hardman highlighted that Princess Anne was “indispensable,” offering immediate comfort to the grief-stricken prince upon his arrival at Balmoral.

The book stated: “She was there when Prince Harry eventually arrived. She greeted him with a hug and escorted him up to the Queen’s bedroom, where he was left to pay his respects to his late grandmother.”

Prince Harry reportedly experienced deep distress when it was revealed that his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, had an intimate dinner in the aftermath of the Queen’s demise and did not extend an invitation to him.

Instead, he participated in the family dinner at Balmoral, alongside other prominent members of the Royal Family.

According to Robert’s latest book, the 73-year-old monarch received commendation as he purportedly desired his sister to serve as a source of support for grieving family members upon their arrival at Balmoral.

He wrote: “One of the King’s first decisions was to ask Princess Anne to take charge of the house party now rapidly expanding at Balmoral Castle. The Princess Royal would prove indispensable over the next few days.”

The biography also revealed that Princess Anne was at her mother’s bedside during her final hours, along with the Queen’s closest friend, Angela Kelly. Other extracts from the book, which has been serialised in the Daily Mail, claim that Charles was notified of his mother’s health as he returned to Balmoral after mushroom picking in the lavish estate grounds.

It also alleges the King notified his sons William and Harry of the Queen’s deteriorating condition and told them to come to Balmoral as soon as possible.
