We’ve had Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 hits cinemas in less than a month’s time. And now the third and final MCU movie of 2023 now has its first teaser trailer. The Marvels is Brie Larson’s second solo movie as Carol Danvers, so is technically Captain Marvel 2. Unlike the first film, which was set in the 1990s, the new blockbuster takes place in the MCU present of the 2020s after the events of Avengers Endgame.
What’s clear from the new MCU footage is that the female superhero trio keep swapping places with each other every time they use their powers and they need to team up to work out why.
The first instance of this occurred at the end of Disney+ show Ms Marvel, when Kamala disappeared and Captain Marvel spawned inside her bedroom wardrobe – a scene that features in this trailer. Meanwhile, we last saw Monica at the end of WandaVision when she was recruited by a Skrull. They’re heavily involved in Secret Invasion so expect them to turn up again.
