Tennis event disrupted by porn video playing on large screen as Thanasi Kokkinakis reacts

Fans at the Cordoba Open were left in shock when a pornographic video was played over a giant screen at the ATP 250 event. The explicit video appeared in front of one of the food court areas on the grounds. The tournament has yet to address the incident but ATP star Thanasi Kokkinakis shared his reaction on social media.

The Cordoba Open suffered a huge blunder on day one of the tournament when an adult video was displayed on one of the big screens on site. In footage taken in the grounds, a small group of fans can be seen near the screen in the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in an area filled with seating and food trucks.

The tournament is one of several ATP events staged in Argentina, with home stars Francisco Cerundolo and Sebastian Baez among those competing this week. But they caught attention for off-court matters after the porn video was shown to spectators around the grounds.

According to Diario Registrado, the explicit images were shown for several minutes before being taken down and the tournament has not yet explained how or why it happened. The video has already gone viral on social media, with world No. 77 Kokkinakis among those to respond.

He wrote: “Hahahaha I’m done,” with two laughing emojis. The unusual incident has also got tennis fans talking, with @KarlGBFan tweeting: “Not such a great way to promote your tournament…. Hahah.”

@Hynesse1 added: “But this one is really a crazy tournament.” And @Clau_JV22 wrote: “No, that wasn’t the handle of the racket…” After the qualifying day was disrupted by the explicit videos, tournament organisers will be hoping that it’s smooth sailing when the main draw gets underway on Monday.
