Royal fans gush over 'hot' Prince William as they unearth pictures of him with a beard

Royal fanatics have gushed over pictures of Prince William sporting a beard in 2008. The Prince of Wales, now 40, was snapped at Sandringham in December where fans said he looked “hot” as he went unshaven. It is thought William had grown the beard to disguise himself for a military mission he went on before joining the RAF in 2009. The Prince had graduated from Royal Air Force College Cranwell before joining the force.

Parallels were drawn between William and his father King Charles who also sported a beard in 1975 while on a Naval exercise in Alaska.

But despite the praise, some fans weren’t the biggest fan of William’s facial hair.

William was compared to his great-grandfather King George V in the unearthed photos.

One Twitter user wrote: “Prince William with a beard was so hot.” A second wrote: “Prince William with a beard because.. everyone deserves to see this.”

People were quick to spot the similarities between William and his ancestor George V.

One user wrote: “WOW King George V Related for sure”. Another agreed: “The resemblance is uncanny”, while a final added: “George V vibes in a good way, of course”.

Another suggested that William looked like the former king and his younger brother, Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, saying: “More Edward VII (1870’s) or his brother Prince Alfred than George V”.

A final fan joked: “Wow – he looks so much like King Edward VII and the last Russian Tsar with that beard!”

It’s not the first time fans have gushed over the Prince, with pictures from his university days also coming to light in recent months.

Compilations of photos from his time at the University of St Andrews surfaced on TikTok, as fans gushed over the “handsome” Prince who sported a full head of hair and an athletic frame.

William met his future wife, Princess Kate, as the university where he studied Geography and earned a Master of Arts degree.

He had initially begun a degree in Art History but changed his mind after attending the Scottish university.
