King Charles gave Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “two choices” when they revealed their plans to move to the US, a report claims.
According to the Byline Times, the Sussexes could either continue to be in the “safety tent” of Britain or be “cast away and castigated as comprehensively as possible”.
This, the report claims, was to “reduce the threat of them eclipsing the royal family.”
Prince Harry detailed in his memoir Spare that he and Meghan did in fact lose their security as provided by the palace in a move he did not think would happen.
When the pair spoke of their plans to move across to the US, the Prince thought the palace would keep to its “implicit promise” to keep security going for them both – an assumption later proved wrong.
