Robbers have stolen £5million after sneaking into a cash depot under a truck. They strapped themselves to the undercarriage of the vehicle before it entered the cash storage depot at the Slough Trading Estate, Berkshire. Workers at the industrial estate were threatened and then bound with cable ties by the gang.
The robbers then smashed into a number of vehicles, which were filled with cash ready for banks and ATMs the following morning.
It is believed the raiders used angle grinders to cut through a metal fence to access a neighbouring property as they made their getaway.
No one was hurt during the incident.
The robbers made off in two vehicles while wearing bulky clothing and head torches. Police would not reveal if they were armed.
Detectives from Thames Valley Police’s Serious Organised Crime Unit is investigating the crime.

Det Supt Kevin Brown said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this robbery to please come forward.
“While I understand this may be alarming, there is no evidence of any wider threat to the public.
“Our Serious and Organised Crime Unit has launched an investigation to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area while we investigate and anyone with concerns should speak to a uniformed officer.”
Investigators are now looking at CCTV from local businesses while forensic teams comb the site.
Vans from the Northern Ireland-based Pivotal Cash Management company were seen on the streets nearby as officers guarded the entrance to the estate.
A truck was taken via a heavy-duty recovery vehicle to be tested by forensics.
Drivers from the recovery company had to wear overalls to ensure they did not contaminate the crime scene.
A tent was also put up at the entrance of the building by investigators.
A person who works nearby told The Mirror: “The police have been here since Wednesday.
“It looks as though the robbers have gone through a fence into a neighbouring yard. The police are saying very little, they’re telling us nothing.”
A spokesperson for the Pivotal Group said: “We can confirm that an incident took place at our Slough facility early yesterday morning.
“Our greatest concern is for our employees and whilst none suffered physical injury, we are working to support their well-being.
“Police were immediately notified and we will continue to assist the authorities during the investigation.”
This robbery is said to be the biggest cash depot raid since robbers took £53million in Tonbridge, Kent, in 2006.
