Queen will have ‘appreciated’ William and Kate for the way they've ‘handled matters’

The late Queen Elizabeth II will have “appreciated” everything that the Prince and Princess of Wales have done over the past 12 months, according to one royal expert.

Yesterday, marked the first anniversary of the late Queen’s death, with the entire Royal Family having to adjust to life without the late monarch over the last 365 days.

Speaking on how the last year has evolved, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that the late Queen would have felt proud of her grandson and his wife.

Mr Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “She will undoubtedly have appreciated the way the Prince and Princess of Wales have handled matters.

“They and their family are the future of the monarchy and William has just been voted the most popular public figure in America by Gallup.”

The Royal Family have faced a challenging year, with a vast amount of changes along the way.

For Prince William, he seemingly stood in the firing line of Prince Harry’s string of claims proposed on the royals earlier this year.

Back in January, Prince Harry released his tell-all memoir, Spare – with the book citing one particular claim that could be seen as damaging for William.

In the book, Harry claimed that he had been involved in a physical disagreement with William in 2019, reportedly resulting in a visible injury.

The argument reportedly occurred after William referred to Meghan Markle as “rude” and “abrasive” – much to the dislike of Harry.

According to Harry, things soon became physical during the confrontation, with him stating: “[William] grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and… knocked me to the floor”.

The Duke of Sussex also claimed that the altercation left him with a visible injury on his back after falling on to a dog’s bowl and breaking it.

The Royal Family have never publicly addressed Harry’s claims, adhering to the typical royal mantra of “Never complain, never explain”.
