Queen Elizabeth’s signature make-up trick that Princess Kate refuses to adopt

The late Queen Elizabeth II is known to have had one signature make-up trick – one that Kate, the Princess of Wales has not ever been pictured using.

Princess Kate’s fashion choices often attract lots of attention, and just like her, the late Queen was a fashion icon back in the day.

Many products that are used by Princess Kate are often best-sellers, including Clarins Lip Perfector.

Despite this, the royal is missing one trick that was used by the late monarch – her love of a bold lip.

Throughout her 70-year reign, the late Queen was regularly pictured wearing either a red or a dark pinky-red lip.

Even as far back as 2006, Princess Kate has only been pictured wearing a nude, subtle pink or lipgloss.

With many royals opting for a neutral look, the late Queen’s decision proved that it wasn’t – or isn’t – against protocol.

Kate reportedly did her own make-up for her wedding day back in 2011.

The senior royal wore Bobbi Brown’s Sandwash Pink lipstick for her nuptials and although a brighter pin, it wasn’t as bright as the ones worn previously by the late Queen.

Speaking previously to Express.co.uk, Hannah, a make-up artist at Spectrum Collections, gave some tips on how ladies can achieve Kate’s effortless glow themselves.

As well as Kate’s natural base, Kate’s lip look calls for more for natural shades than bold ones.

Hannah explained: “Lips are always kept really subtle, often with a hint of a cool-toned pink to compliment her skin tone.”
