Queen Elizabeth’s clever trick to stop Mia Tindall being ‘naughty’ during a family photo

Queen Elizabeth once used a very handy parenting trick to control her mischievous great-granddaughter, Mia Tindall. Back in 2016, the monarch was celebrating her 90th birthday and posed for a portrait with her two youngest grandchildren, Lady Louise Windsor and James, then-Viscount Severn, and her great-grandchildren who were born by that time.

This included Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Savannah Phillips, Isla Phillips, and Mia Tindall. Little Mia, who was two at the time was pictured holding a very particular thing in the portrait.

Zara and Mike Tindall’s daughter was dressed in a cute pink cardigan, a blue skirt, white frilly socks and a pair of black pumps.

But she was also holding the late monarch’s signature black handbag.

The late Queen was known to always use the Launer London handbags as the brand held the royal warrant and supplied Her Late Majesty with almost all of her handbags.

But Mia’s dad Mike Tindall once revealed why his daughter was holding the late monarch’s handbag in an official portrait photo.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he revealed: “It just happened at the right time. She was being a bit naughty.

“The Queen got it quite right when she told her ‘Just hold the handbag now’ and she did that. It ended up being a great photo of her.

“It just turned out to be the right photo at the right time and it will be something we’ll always cherish, I think.”
