Princess Kate's uncle reveals Prince William's very British 7-word question when they met

Prince William asked the most British question ever when he met Princess Kate’s uncle Gary Goldsmith for the first time, according to the Celebrity Big Brother star.

It’s a question that’s asked the length and breadth of Britain every single day. It’s also a question that makes Princess Kate and her husband Prince William very “normal” according to Gary Goldsmith.

Speaking on his introduction video on Celebrity Big Brother the new housemate said that “do you want a cup of tea” was the first question he was asked by Prince William after they met.

He said: “I’m Gary Goldsmith, the uncle to the future queen of our country Catherine Middleton, the current Princess of Wales. She is simply perfect.

“The first time I met William, Catherine was cooking, and William said “hi”. This was followed by the insanely British seven-word question: “Do you want a cup of tea?” which Goldsmith hailed as “very normal”.

Mr Goldsmith, 58, is the younger brother of Kate’s mother Carole Middleton, 68. The IT recruitment boss – who is worth around £30 million – said that he’s often seen as a “bad boy” but wants to “put the record straight.”

But the move is thought to have made the Royal Family nervous – and when he entered the house last night appeared to divulge where his niece Princess Kate has been recuperating after her abdominal surgery.

He is known for his outspoken views, particularly on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. He added in his intro: “I often read that people think that I’m a bit of a bad boy. It would be lovely to put the record straight but winding people up is probably my favourite hobby.

“Every part of me is riddled with mischief and danger. I’m an absolute nightmare to live with. There’s a reason why I’ve had four wives. I’ve watched Big Brother. It was the one show I said I would never do.”

Host AJ Odudu also asked him if Kate was likely to be watching the show, to which he replied: “If she is sitting behind a sofa, yes!

“It’ll be a nice one in a nice house somewhere, I can guarantee that!”

Mr Goldsmith has previously said the Princess is “the most spectacular person I’ve ever met”.

He’s so open with his opinions on the royals that it was initially reported he was planning to have a book published in retort to Prince Harry’s controversial memoir Spare.

However it’s believed that his sister Carole stepped in and persuaded him to change the book’s focus.

The source said: “Gary is now focused on writing a book about his business ventures and how he became so successful.

“Writing about private family secrets or including details about a feud with Harry and Meghan just didn’t make sense following all the antics that have gone on in recent years. It’s best to put that chapter well and truly behind them.”
