The Princess of Wales once represented Prince William at a royal wedding, meaning that she attended it alone.
In May 2008, when the couple were not yet engaged, Princess Kate was a guest at Peter Phillip’s wedding to now-ex-wife, Autumn.
Prince William, however wasn’t able to attend as he was at another wedding in Kenya.
The wedding was of his ex-girlfriend Jecca Craig’s’ brother’s wedding.
This meant that Kate stepped out and represented her future husband on his cousin’s big day.
At the time, a source said that Kate would be “going in his absence.”
The source also confirmed that it is not to be seen as a snub to the rest of the family – especially his cousin Peter.
Speaking to The Telegraph, the source said: “Prince William is going to be out of the country this weekend on a long-standing prior engagement.
“It is an unfortunate clash but he has spoken to his cousin Peter and he is fine with the situation.”
Despite attending alone, Kate was in good company with William’s brother, Prince Harry and his then-girlfriend, Chelsy Davy.
For the occasion, Kate opted to wear a pale pink jacket, a sheer black top and black skirt. She accessorised with a veiled pillbox hat.
In 2016, William aslo flew to Kenya to attend Jecca’s own wedding.
As well as Peter Phillips’ wedding, Princess Kate also attended Lady Rose Windsor’s wedding in July 2008 alone.
Peter was the first of the late Queen’s grandchildren to tie the knot, with the wedding taking place in Windsor.
The guest list included 300 of Peter and Autumn’s close friends and family, with the bride’s family flying in from her home country of Canada.
Autumn, who is mother to Peter’s two daughters Savannah, 13 and Isla, 11, previously spoke out about the big day.
She told HELLO!: “I was so frightened of walking down the aisle. But when I got to the top of stairs and saw how many of our friends and family had turned out to support us, I stopped being scared and actually enjoyed it.”
