Kate, Princess of Wales, is admired by millions around the world for her beauty and style.
But the senior royal appears to share the same insecurities harboured by many women, as she gave a hugely relatable answer during a royal tour.
Magda Mordaka was a 21-year-old student when she had the chance to catch a glimpse of Princess Kate during a tour of the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Poland and Germany.
On Kate and Prince William’s first day in Poland, the royal pair carried out a walkabout near the presidential palace, where Ms Mordaka managed to express her admiration for the princess.
After meeting Kate, the royal fan told Hello! magazine: “We are fans of the British monarchy. We have a Facebook group. We love her style, and her contact with people.
“We were telling her that she is beautiful and perfect, but she said it’s not true.”
Princess Kate then modestly claimed: “It’s just the make-up.”
On that same walkabout, Kate met other keen royal fans, including then-17-year-old Patrycja Chelminska, who added: “The Duchess of Cambridge is very nice, she is beautiful. It was my dream to meet her. I am so happy.”
During the royal tour to Poland and Germany, Kate sported a new, shorter haircut styled in loose waves.
During engagements that happened in the morning or early afternoon, she mostly kept a natural style, wearing a foundation for a glowy base and blush on her cheeks to enhance her complexion, paired with a pale lipstick.
When it came to eye make-up, however, she tended to draw attention to her gaze by using dark liners or eye-shadows ranging from beige to brown tones.
Keen fans of Kate’s styles will have surely missed seeing Kate out and about over the past few weeks.
The Princess of Wales last took part in a royal engagement on Christmas Day, when she joined King Charles and other royals to attend the morning service at St Mary Magdalene Church.
In January, it emerged the Princess would remain far from the public eye at least until Easter as she had undergone abdominal surgery.
