Princess Kate receives outpouring of love from across the globe including Commonwealth


Good wishes have been sent to Princess Kate from royal fans far and wide across Commonwealth countries, as an outpour of love for the royal is shown from across the world.

The Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC who is the sixth Commonwealth secretary general, wrote on social media platform X: “On behalf of our Commonwealth family, I wish Catherine, The Princess of Wales, a swift and complete recovery on this holy Palm Sunday.”

Scotland, who was born in Dominica, added: “The Princess, His Majesty The King and @RoyalFamily remain in all our thoughts and prayers.”

Princess Kate appeared visibly emotional in a personal video released on March 22, announcing she had been diagnosed with cancer. She explained how when she had undergone abdominal surgery in January at the time she was told her condition was non-cancerous.

The future Queen then revealed, in her heart-wrenching statement, that later tests found cancer had been present and she was undergoing treatment.

The video was filmed by BBC studios at Windsor on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, and word of Kate’s health has now reached all corners of the globe.

Saturday’s statement from the palace added Kate and William were “grateful” that the public understood their request for privacy but also said they were “enormously touched” by the kind messages received.

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace said: “The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message.

“They are extremely moved by the public’s warmth and support and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time.”

Social media has been a place of toxicity for the princess in recent weeks with the wild rumours and gossip about her condition.

The video of Kate’s personal message which has also been uploaded to Instagram now 4.8million likes (at the time of writing) and 278K comments.

Princess Kate explained it took some time to process the news as well as explain everything to her and Prince William’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

She praised her husband William and said that having him by her side “is a great source of comfort and reassurance too.”

Despite the shocking news, the future queen appeared to spread a message of positivity as she added “I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.”

She also sent a personal message to others battling cancer and stated: “At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”

It comes after an unprecedented wave of wild speculation involving the royal was circulating around social media in the past few weeks following her absence from royal duties.
