Princess Kate and Prince William 'looking forward to one key thing' following her recovery

The Prince and Princess of Wales are “looking forward to one key thing” after she fully recovers from surgery, according to former royal butler Grant Harrold.

Earlier this month, Kensington Palace shocked royal fans by revealing that Princess Kate had been admitted to a hospital in London for planned abdominal surgery.

The Palace didn’t specify any further details, although they did share that the condition was non-cancerous.

The Princess of Wales returned home to Windsor yesterday, after 13 days in The London Clinic in Marylebone.

Princess Kate was finally able to see her three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five – for the first time since she was admitted.

As well Kate’s obvious absence from royal duties, Prince William also took time away to care for their children.

Although she has continued her recovery at home, Princess Kate is not expected to return to royal duties until “after Easter”.

Speaking of Kate’s road to full recovery, Mr Harrold spoke of one thing that both Kate and William will be looking forward to.

Mr Harrold, who served for King Charles for seven years, said that Kate’s absence would have left a “void” for her whole family.

He said: “The sooner her recovery, I’m sure the sooner the pair will get back to carrying out their royal duties together, which is something that I think they enjoy.

“I think they’ll be keen to get back to normal with it. There won’t be a huge team there on hand. It’ll be her husband who’ll mainly be doing that, helping her to get back onto her feet.”

A statement released on Monday – after Princess Kate was discharged from hospital – read: “The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress.

“The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided.

“The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world.”

Shortly after Kensington Palace’s statement about Kate’s hospital admission, Buckingham Palace also shared that the King was set to undergo treament for an enlarged prostate.

The King spent three nights in The London Clinic – the same hospital as Kate – and was also discharged on Monday afternoon.
