Ernest George Ronnie, the newest royal baby, was born on May 30 at the Portland Hospital in London. The royal baby is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s second child.
Princess Eugenie said on social media: “Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs.
“He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald. Augie is loving being a big brother already.”
The royal gave birth in the Portland Hospital, which has been the place of many royal births throughout the years, including Prince Archie Harrison, the son of Harry and Meghan, and Eugenie and Beatrice, the daughters of Sarah Ferguson.
The private hospital in Westminster is renowned for providing some of the best midwifery care in the UK.

But it’s not just the advanced medical technology that attracts people from all over the world. The luxurious rooms and delectable menu make this hospital appear like a five-star hotel.
The celebrity-favourite Portland Hospital has added lobster to its menu, and new mothers who want to toast their baby are offered a “Champagne and strawberries” celebration package according to their website.
Partners may choose to spend the night with their babies in en-suite rooms that have a separate bed and are furnished with Temple Spa toiletries.
The Portland offers 24-hour room service, a wide selection of healthy meals, and top-quality catering staff that can accommodate the majority of dietary requirements, much like a hotel.
Janene Madden, the CEO of Portland Hospital, has said of the hospital: “What I can advocate about here is that it is like having a holiday.
“You get to use the nursery, your baby is only brought back for feeding time, so after two or three nights here you leave here feeling really fit and well and ready to face this challenge as a new mum. It’s how it should be.”
Giving birth at the Portland is expensive, which may not come as a surprise if royal fans want to enjoy the experience.
The costly experience for a “normal delivery” starts at £6,760 and rises to £8,110 for an emergency c-section.
Princess Eugenie’s experience of giving birth to her second child would have been very different from the delivery of her elder son, August.
The third coronavirus-related nationwide lockdown in the UK occurred when August was born, therefore it is likely that the Princess was unable to receive any guests.
The Princess would have been primarily confined to her home throughout her son’s first month after birth, with only her household and support bubble likely being allowed to meet August.
In the two pictures that Eugenie posted on Instagram, August could be seen doting on his younger brother and looking adorable.
