Princess Diana's brother drops hints about possible Prince Harry meeting in California

Charles Spencer was recently in Malibu, California, which isn’t all that far from Montecito, where his nephew, Prince Harry, lives with his wife and two children. And it’s thought Charles may have swung by Harry’s to check-in.

Montecito is about an hour’s drive from where Charles – Princess Diana’s younger brother – was staying.

Earl Spencer made a trip to the US and shared a little note via social media, writing: “Happy Thanksgiving to all Americans – from Manhattan to Malibu (both of which I’ve visited in the past few weeks).”

It’s not 100 percent confirmed, but it’s believed Charles may have spent some time with Harry.

Harry has talked about his uncle in the past, saying how welcoming he was when Harry and Meghan went to visit Princess Diana’s grave site on the family estate.

In Spare, he wrote: “Uncle Charles came down to the water’s edge, gave us a little shove. We waved to him, and to my two aunts. Bye. See you in a bit.”

Royal historian Tessa Dunlop said of Harry’s extended family: “He clearly does have relations with the Spencers. And in Spare he talks about his two aunts and uncle being there when he and Meghan visited Diana’s grave.”

Earl Spencer isn’t shy of showing his affection for his nephew publicly.

In 2020, he shared his condolences with the couple via social media, after Meghan suffered a miscarriage, writing: “I can’t imagine the agony for any couple of losing a child in this way. It’s so very, very sad. And of course, I totally agree with you, all thoughts with them today.”

He has also announced his own plans to release a memoir, A Very Private School, writing about his days at boarding school, which is expected to publish in March 2024.
