Princess Charlene and Albert take twins to school as they continue to put on united front

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco were seen taking their children to school in their seventh public appearance in nine days amidst separation rumours.

The pair were pictured on the Palace’s Instagram with their eight-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella to celebrate the children’s first day of school.

At the weekend, Albert and Charlene put on a loving display while attending the Rugby World Cup in Marseille. Albert had an arm around his wife while they spoke to sports fans.

Other united front appearances over the last nine days also include attending a 100th-anniversary celebration of Prince Rainier III’s birth and the Princess of Monaco Cup ’19th hole’ event.

This follows rumours that the couple, who married in 2011, were living apart and only see one another by appointment or for ceremonial reasons.

The flurry of appearances is out of character for Charlene, who previously had not been spotted in Monaco for months.

The former Olympic swimmer spent 10 months in South Africa in 2021 for a supposed ear condition. When she returned, Albert said it was clear she was “unwell and overwhelmed” and was unable to “face official duties, life in general or even family life”.

The couple recently holidayed together with their two children but Princess Charlene reportedly did not return with her family and now lives in Switzerland.

She also missed the seventh birthday of her twins Gabriella and Jacques and her tenth wedding anniversary with Albert.

An insider told French paper Voici that they are now a “ceremonial couple”, also telling German publication Bild: “Albert and Charlene are now good partners, taking turns taking care of the children.”

But rumours have swirled of the couple’s happiness since the wedding day, where Charlene allegedly wept through the ceremony and Albert could be heard asking her to stop crying.
