Princess Anne 'in charge' at royal events as she makes sure she is 'given due respect'

Princess Anne conducts herself as if she is “in charge” when out and about on royal engagements, according to a body language expert and behavioural analyst.

Darren Stanton said that thanks to her strong posture through years of equestrianism, and the respect she commands as a senior royal, the Princess Royal is able to showcase her confidence no matter who she is with.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots he explained: “When we see her now, going out to engagements with Kate Middleton especially, in terms of the way she conducts herself, you can tell she is in charge.

“Not from an egotistical point of view, but just from the way she walks and carries herself.

“Obviously, she’s got an equestrian background so her posture is very important to her anyway, but certainly when she goes out to events, either alone or with Prince William and Kate, she is given due respect as being a senior member of the Royal Family under King Charles.”

He added: “In terms of her non-verbal gestures and signals, we don’t see anything that denotes a lack of confidence or introvertness, in fact she’s always been outspoken.”

One of the qualities that both Anne and her late mother Queen Elizabeth are known for is their sense of humour, as her son-in-law Mike Tindall revealed.

During his time on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, the former rugby player admitted that he embarrassed himself in front of the Princess at Zara Tindall’s 30th birthday party.

Mike told his fellow campmates that while he “loves suits”, he accidentally rips a lot of them due to his “over-exaggerated dancing at weddings”.

On this occasion for the 70s-themed night Mike had donned a pair of flares, which he ripped open on the dancefloor while in the middle of an enthusiastic slut-drop.

He added “It happened to be that my boxers that I had on at that time said ‘Nibble my nuts'”, which was witnessed by the Princess Royal.

However, instead of acting appalled Anne responded in her characteristic dry manner, simply replying: “I’d rather not”.

Mike has been married to Anne’s daughter Zara since 2011 and the couple now have three children together – Mia, Lena and Lucas.

The mother and daughter have much in common, including the rather impressive distinction of having represented Team GB in the Olympics, with Zara winning a silver medal with the equestrian team at London 2012.
