Prince William intent on fixing key fault in the Royal Family that mum Diana identified

In his role as heir to the throne William has worked tirelessly to raise the profile of his charities, alongside his wife Princess Kate, with both focused on their own key areas.

His work with the homeless was inspired by his mother taking him and Prince Harry to visit a homeless shelter when they were children, with one royal expert stating this was the true “legacy” Diana left her sons.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine: “In almost everything he does and says, William is gently pushing the monarchy forward.

“I love the fact that he has made it something of his signature that he just drops in on places (well, as much as any future King can just drop in without notice!) to say hello and see how various projects, charities and events are going.

“He knows, and has publicly said, that it it is his job to keep the monarchy relevant in modern society.

“Diana told me she thought the monarchy was too distant and too inaccessible and that she wanted to change it. William is doing his best to achieve that.”

William and Kate have also been relaxing strict royal protocols surrounding showing affection as they have been spotted being more playful and romantic with each other.

During the Service of Thanksgiving at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh on Wednesday the Prince and Princess giggled and whispered together, with Kate even patting her husband on the bum.

Yesterday at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor Kate watched on and cheered as William played in the annual Outsourcing Inc. Royal Polo Cup for charity.

When presenting her husband with his trophy Kate and William kissed each other on the cheek and she squeezed his arm as they beamed at each other.

A body language expert told Express.co.uk how Kate “oozed confidence” while watching the polo and meeting with representatives from her and William’s charities.

She looked summery and relaxed wearing a baby blue midi-dress from Beulah with a white floral pattern.
