Prince Harry wouldn’t ‘twist the knife’ into royals by becoming official American citizen

He said: “There is really no earthly reason why, after being accused of turning his back on his family and his country, Harry would want to twist the knife by seeking US citizenship.

“Forget about whether the US would ultimately demand that Harry renounce his titles.

It’s much more likely that King Charles would face pressure to strip Harry of his royal titles if he chose to become a US citizen. And it’s difficult to see the upside of Harry becoming a US citizen.”

Anderson continued to question what would be in it for Harry to “further alienate” himself from his family.

While it’s clear Harry enjoys living in America, Anderson says it’s not the same as the prince being in love with the nation.

“It was clear that Harry was blindsided when he was asked that question,” Anderson added.

When GMA presenter Will Reeve asked the Duke what he thought of life in America, Harry gushed it was “amazing”.

However, he stopped short of actually saying he felt American. Instead, he confessed: “I don’t know how to feel.”

Harry’s visa application has caused huge controversy following his claims in his memoir, Spare, about drug use.

He admitted to taking cocaine, marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms in the book and now Washington DC think tank The Heritage Foundation has questioned why he was allowed entry into America in 2020.

A lawsuit was brought against the Department for Homeland Security (DHS) after a Freedom of Information Act request was rejected.

It’s said a judge will give his verdict on the case “very soon”.
