Prince Harry trying to 'change the narrative' after 'divisive' kill count comment

Prince Harry is trying to “change the narrative” amid the release of a trailer for his new Netflix documentary Heart of Invictus, a commentator claims.

The Duke is attempting to “get back” to his old self after he became a “divisive” figure following the release of his tell-all memoir Spare, GB News royal correspondent Cameron Walker believes.

“This is the first time this event has taken place since the publication of his memoir, Spare, and this documentary is perhaps trying to change the narrative and put the spotlight back on what Harry is known for,” he said.

In Spare, Harry spoke about killing 25 Taliban insurgents during his time as a helicopter pilot in Afghanistan. Some veterans took offence to the claims.

Walker added that Harry’s new documentary may be the first move in “changing the minds” of any veterans whose views of the Duke have soured since Spare.

Netflix tweeted the trailer which features Harry on stage at the Invictus Games which he started in 2014.

“It is here at Invictus Games that you realise – whatever you carry was the springboard that propelled you to the next level,” he says in the trailer.

The Prince continues: “The Games doesn’t focus on what causes the injury but the recovery and how to be part of a community again.”

Netflix says the documentary – which follows disabled veterans as they prepare for the Invictus Games – will debut on August 20, 2023.

The international games are a multi-sport event for injured or sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.

This year’s games will be held in September in Dusseldorf, Germany.
