Prince Harry still reeling from his memoir with 'dismal' chance of reconciliation even now

Prince Harry’s reconciliation with the Royal Family is “not on the cards” for 2024, one royal expert has claimed.

January 10 marks exactly one year since the former royal released his tell-all memoir, Spare, but relations have barely improved since then.

Royal expert Christine Ross has claimed that the memoir “further drove” Harry away from his family and that the 39-year-old still reaping the consequence of the release to this day.

In his book, Harry further exposed more allegations against his family – especially that of his father King Charles III and brother Prince William.

Harry has been at loggerheads with the Royal Family for some time, with their relationship evidently becoming more strained after Spare.

Ms Ross told Express.co.uk: “One year later, we can see that Spare further drove Prince Harry away from his family.

“Between his absence at Christmas at Sandringham, the rumours of lack of calls on birthdays, it’s clear that reconciliation between Prince Harry and his father and brother is not in the cards for 2024.

“While they may have silently come to terms with the family fracture, any hope for the friendly, loving brotherly and father/son relationship seems dismal.”

Describing Spare as an outlet for Harry to “get all of his feelings on the table”, Ms Ross believes that the release came with “an incredible cost”.

Speaking on any chance of a reconciliation, the expert claimed that although one with the King could be possible at some point – things don’t appear so easy between the two brothers.

Ms Ross added: “King Charles has publicly spoken in quiet support of his son Harry, but I suspect Prince William will need more time to heal from the accusations and wounding words.”

Also speaking to Express.co.uk, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams referred to the ongoing feud as “extremely wide”.

On whether or not the family still have any form of communication with the Sussexes, he added: “I doubt there is much contact, if any.”

He added: “The Royal Family are in this for the long game.

“The eviction of Harry and Meghan from Frogmore cottage, which happened after Spare was published, they currently have no base in Britain, is symbolic of their relationship with the Royal Family, who do not trust them, at this time.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are jetted off to Costa Rica with their two children and Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland for Christmas last month. The pair have now spent five Christmasses away from the royals – and four away from the UK.
