Prince Harry desperate to 'build bridges' with Royal Family as he's focused on 'healing'

Prince Harry is finally planning to “build bridges” with the Royal Family, it has been revealed.

Following two recent health scares in the Royal Family, the Duke of Sussex is said to now feel that it is time to attempt to make amends.

Both Princess Kate and King Charles were discharged from The London Clinic on Monday, having both undergone surgeries. Kate had spent just under two weeks at the private hospital, while the King was being treated for three days.

Harry has been at loggerheads with the royals for some time, with tensions escalating after his Netflix docu-series, memoir and subsequent promotional interviews.

But the 39-year-old, Harry is now intent on mending relations with his family and putting an end to his spate of public attacks.

Speaking to OK!, royal expert Duncan Larcombe said: “It’s likely that Harry is now in the mindset of trying to build bridges.

“A new year could hopefully provide a time of healing.”

This comes after reports that Harry made a decision to “put an end” to his wife Meghan Markle’s plans to pen her own book to “set the record straight”.

Harry is thought to think that this could cause added friction and very likely not help his fractured relationship with his family – particularly his father King Charles – in the long run.

Mr Larcombe added: “Another account would be a considerable spanner in the works during a time that he is said to hope to heal the rift with his family.

“In particular, the clash between Meghan and Kate is still live and is a thorny issue. There’s bad blood on both sides, so [a memoir from Meghan] would only fuel it.”

It was recently reported that the Sussexes sent well wishes to the King and Princess Kate after it was revealed that they would both undergo surgeries.

A source recently claimed that Meghan and Harry “contacted both parties in different ways to pass on their concern and best wishes”.

Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step down from royal duties in January 2020, with the pair moving to the US shortly after.

The couple’s two children – Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two – have rarely spent time in the UK with their royal relatives.

Although Archie was born – and spent his first year – in the UK, Lilibet is known to have only visited the UK once.
