Prince Harry appears 'more relaxed and confident' when he steps out without Meghan Markle

Prince Harry appeared “more relaxed” on his latest appearance without wife Meghan Markle, claims a body language expert. The 39-year-old was recognised at the 21st annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards last week.

Despite it being a big night for the former royal, Harry’s wife Meghan wasn’t in attendance. Meghan is said to have missed the event due to “one of their children becoming unwell”.

It remains unknown which one of the couple’s two children – Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two – had become poorly.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Roulette, body language expert Darren Stanton analysed Harry’s most-recent appearance in the US.

He said: “While analysing Harry’s behaviour and performance, I could see he displayed great amounts of eye contact.

“He tends to show huge microexpressions of happiness, more so when he’s on his own. When he’s with Meghan, he feels that he needs to protect her.

“However, when he’s by himself, he’s only got himself to cover for.”

Mr Stanton added: “While he loves being around Meghan, these sort of solo engagements show Harry in a much more relaxed and confident light.”

Speaking of Harry’s speech, he added: “It was very well received and people seemed to be listening. No one else was speaking over him and people were attentive.

“He did get a standing ovation and round of applause. His posture was upright, his shoulders were back and there was clear deliverance to the audience.

“All the expressions we saw from him and how he conducted himself showed that he felt totally content and happy.”

The couple have recently been at the centre of another royal storm – one involving the name of their two-year-old daughter.

Last week, it came to light that the late Queen was reportedly very angry with Harry and Meghan over their claims that they had been granted her permission to use her very-personal nickname – Lilibet – for their daughter.

According to author Robert Hardman’s new book, ‘Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story’, the late Queen reportedly told one of her members of staff: “…The only thing I own is my name. And now they’ve taken that”.
