Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's son Archie's sweet Christmas gift from late Queen

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Prince Archie, once got a very sweet Christmas gift from his late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have moved across the pond in 2020 after they quit their royal duties, all while keeping their children out of the spotlight, but they’ve been sharing some small glimpses into their family life throughout the years.

In 2021, Prince Harry spoke about how the late monarch once shipped a very special Christmas gift to her great-grandson.

The duke appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden and revealed that Elizabeth asked him and Meghan what Archie, four, wanted for Christmas.

And it turns out all little Archie, one and a half years old at the time, wanted a waffle maker.

Harry said: “My son is now over a year and a half, he is hysterical, he’s got the most amazing personality, he’s already putting two, three words together, he’s already singing songs.”

He added: “His first word was ‘crocodile’, three syllables.”

The duke then went on to reveal his late grandmother’s special Christmas gift saying: “Interestingly, my grandmother asked us what Archie wanted for Christmas and Meg said a waffle maker, she sent us a waffle maker for Archie…

“So breakfast now, Meg makes up a beautiful organic mix, in the waffle maker, flip it, out it comes, he loves it. Archie literally wakes up in the morning and says ‘waffle’.”

According to the royal, Queen Elizabeth’s sweet gift made him convert to waffles for breakfast too.

He added: “Now I have waffles for breakfast, a bit of yoghurt, a bit of jam on top. I don’t know if that’s the right thing to do…”

The couple, along with their children Archie and Princess Lilibet, two, have been living in Montecito, California since 2020. The last time they spent Christmas Day with the Royal Family was in 2018.

But they’ve previously talked about how they like to spend their holidays in the States and how they try to make their own “special memories” with their kids.

Back in November, Meghan spoke to E! News during Variety’s Power of Women gala and revealed one of the family’s favourite Christmas traditions.

She said: “We’re creating new ones now that our little ones are growing up. And we’re enjoying every moment of it.

“I love trimming and decorating the tree with my children.”
